September is
Hunger Action Awareness Month &
Workforce Devlopment Month
Did you know Fairfax County Employment Services operates Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment and Training (SNAPET)? SNAPET offers employment and training assistance to eligible adults participating in SNAP and looking for a job. About 5% of the County’s population, or over 60,000 people, currently participate in SNAP benefits. You can help fight hunger in our community by using our Community Engagement Toolkit to share information on social media and donating food.
September is Workforce Development Month! Throughout the month, we will be highlighting the impact of Fairfax County Employment Services’ workforce development programs in the northern Virginia region. Workforce development programs and staff contribute to building a pipeline to good, quality jobs, and supporting underserved communities and anyone seeking to begin or advance their career. Employment Services works with local partners to serve job seekers of all ages and experience levels. Follow along this month to read our Workforce Development stories and learn more about what we do and why we do it!
