Early Voting
Friday and Saturday, Hours Vary
Vote early starting this Friday at three county locations: Mount Vernon Governmental Center, North County Governmental Center and Fairfax County Government Center. Curbside voting is available for voters with a disability or who are 65 or older.

Bats (7 - 8 p.m.)
Walk the meadows and forest edges to see bats feeding on insects at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park. Learn about our native bats and their habits and use a bat detector to hear echolocation.

Garden Talk - Build the Lawn of Your Dreams (1:30 - 2:30 p.m.)
Learn tips and tricks to keep your lawn healthy, thick and green at Green Spring Gardens Park. We'll discuss fertilization, seeding and weed prevention to withstand dry, hot weather.
Make A Story Map (4:30 - 5:30 p.m.)
Work with your child to create a story about an imaginary place and bring it to life on oversized paper at the Kingstowne Library. Bring small toys, cars or figures to play and explore in your pretend land.
Campfire Fridays (7 - 8 p.m.)
Join us for an evening campfire the whole family can enjoy at Lake Accotink Park. Explore the wonders of our natural world through nature walks, interactive activities and animal presentations. End the evening with s’mores.

Reston Multicultural Festival (11 a.m. - 6 p.m.)
The annual Reston Multicultural Festival at the Reston Town Center celebrates our rich diversity through song, dance, food and art. All are encouraged to dress in attire that represents their cultural roots.

Goldenrods and Asters - Fall Wildflowers (10 - 11:30 a.m.)
Stroll along the riverbank in search of our fall wildflowers and learn some of the folklore associated with them at Riverbend Park.
Student Appreciation Day (11 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
Join us for an exciting day of fun games, demos and more at the Laurel Hill Golf Club. Events include longest drive competitions, range and putting contests, short-game poker and more.
Old Firehouse Block Party (1 - 4 p.m.)
Celebrate the Old Firehouse’s 34th anniversary by enjoying a variety of free games, crafts, music, food, amusements, giveaways and more.
Cosplay Crunch at the Library (4 - 5:30 p.m.)
Come to the Thomas Jefferson Library to work on your cosplay with others before the con crunch dread sets in. We'll provide EVA foam, fabric scissors, modge podge, super glue, glue guns, fabric paint, embroidery supplies and much more.
Flamenco Performance with Furia Flamenca (4:30 - 5:30 p.m.)
Furia Flamenca Dance Company presents the music, song and dance of Spain: Flamenco. Join us at the Culmore Library (Woodrow Wilson) for an afternoon filled with the fiery footwork and musical solos.
Family Skate and Dance Night: Come on Skaters, Let’s Go Party! (6 - 9 p.m.)
Come skate, dance and channel your inner Barbie by dressing in Barbie or Ken inspired clothing for Barbie Night at the Franconia Rec Center. Remember to bring your own skates.

Invasive Plant Clean-Up in Spanish (9 a.m.)
Join us and help manage invasive plants at Lake Accotink. In this Spanish program, connect with others while protecting and restoring our natural habitats.

Are You Going to Eat That? (10 - 11 a.m.)
Enjoy a naturalist-led hike and identify plants that are safe to eat and which ones to avoid at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park. Learn how to use plants for rope making and folk remedies.
Practical Plants - Foraging for Herbal Remedies (10 a.m. - noon)
Learn about the healing power of plants at Riverbend Park. Discover the herbal remedies and wild edibles of Virginia and how to gather these plants safely and sustainably.
LEGO Club (10:30 - 11:30 a.m.)
Build with LEGO bricks to your heart's content at the City of Fairfax Regional Library. Create masterpieces to display in the library, or simply experiment to release your inner architect.
Bug Bingo (1 - 2 p.m.)
Hike with a naturalist to learn about different insects’ behavior and habitats at Burke Lake Park. Explore the park and fill out a bingo sheet as you search for tiny workers.
Stream Life (6 - 7 p.m.)
Freshwater ecosystems are full of fascinating creatures. Search for stoneflies, hellgrammites, water pennies and crayfish at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park. Use dip and kick nets to catch and release these creatures.

Saturday, Sept. 28, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Celebrate all things bugs with the whole family at our creepy-crawly adventure at Lake Accotink Park. Games and activities include insect safaris, live insects, insect collections, log rolling and more. Learn more.

Saturday, Oct. 5, noon
Enjoy live music, delicious food and beverages at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park. See the work of local artisans and vendors. Make some nature crafts with park naturalists. Learn more.
