Join us for a tail-wagging good time at the Eileen Garnett Civic Space's free Dog Days of Summer event. Activities include:

- Expawsive fun: Meet local vendors with treats, toys and all things dog.
- Yappy hour for humans: Mingle with other dog lovers and enjoy refreshments.
- Pawsome picnic area: Bring a blanket and relax with your furry friend.

Vintage Sale Adoption Event
Friday-Sunday, Hours Vary
Celebrate senior pets with our Animal Shelter. This weekend, adoption fees are waived for all dogs and cats six years old and up at both our Michael R. Frey and Lorton Campus.

Paris Summer Games Opening Ceremony Watch Party (2 - 4:30 p.m.)
Let the games begin! Join us at the Centreville Regional Library to watch a live steam of the opening ceremony of the summer games in Paris. Light refreshments will be provided.

Wonder Wagon: Mobile Nature Center (11 - 11:45 a.m.)
Step into the world of environmental exploration with the Wonder Wagon at the Thomas Jefferson Library. Our Park Authority's innovative mobile nature center is packed with engaging activities from bug catching to birdwatching.
Anansi and The Talking Melon - Marionette Show (11 a.m. - noon)
Join Elephant, Warthog and Ostrich on their jolly adventure to the Monkey King as they seek help for their tricky friend, Anansi, at the Tysons-Pimmit Regional Library. Watch as this West African folktale is adapted for marionette puppet theater.
Chair Yoga for Adults (2:30 - 3:30 p.m.)
Find stability, alignment and integrity through stretches and safe movement from the comfort of a chair at Great Falls Library.

Rhythmaya Bollywood (7:30 - 9 p.m.)
From the upbeat music to the colorful costumes, Bollywood is a celebration of Indian culture. Come experience it the Rhythmaya way with a chance to perform and be a part of a community at Arrowbrook Centre Park in Herndon.

Eat a Poem - Ice Cream Social (1 - 2 p.m.)
Make an ice cream sundae and then write a fun poem at the Burke Centre Library. This program is for children and teens 10-18 years old.
How to Not Make It Weird: Improv Workshop (2 - 4 p.m.)
Have you lost some social skills since 2020? Join an improv instructor for a workshop at the City of Fairfax Regional Library that promotes creativity, teamwork and effective communication using beginner improv principles.
Chinese Culture Club (4:30 - 5:30 p.m.)
Join us at the Dolley Madison Library to explore Chinese history, art, music and culture through a variety of activities. All activities will be facilitated in both English and Chinese Mandarin. All Chinese language levels are welcome.
Evening Farm Tour - Beatrix Potter Night (7 - 8 p.m.)
Learn about famous children’s author, farmer and conservationist Beatrix Potter at Frying Pan Park. Hear the author's tales, enjoy a trivia game and share a snack in honor of her July birthday. We will also meet some of the critters that inspired her stories.
Night Hike and Smores Campfire (8:30 - 10 p.m.)
Enjoy a naturalist-led walk through the forest at Lake Fairfax Park while listening for nocturnal animals and looking for evidence of wildlife. End your hike at our campfire with s'mores.

Flock Talk: An Introduction to Chicken Behavior (noon - 1:30 p.m.)
Join our Animal Shelter and Adopt A Bird Network for a free class that will cover flock hierarchy, rooster behavior, the ways chicken communicate, feeding habits and more at our Lorton Campus. Plus, there will be friendly roosters to meet!

Beginning Birdwatching (8 -9 a.m.)
Learn bird identification tips by sight and sound and how to make your yard more attractive to native species at Burke Lake Park. Binoculars will be available to borrow to view outdoor bird feeding stations.
Stolen History (1 p.m.)
Hear about cultural treasures stolen by souvenir-takers, relic smugglers and antiquities traffickers at Green Spring Gardens. In a discussion, consider the significance of looted artifacts and the arguments for returning them. A traditional British afternoon tea will be served in the Historic House following the program.
Plant Swap (3 - 4 p.m.)
Are you on the hunt for different varieties of houseplants to add to your collection? Bring your cuttings, seeds, seedlings and transplants to an in-person plant swap at the George Mason Regional Library. Please ensure that plants and cuttings are pest-free.
3D Printing Basics (3:30 - 4:30 p.m.)
Learn how to create a simple and personalized 3D object using TinkerCAD at the Centreville Regional Library. Laptops will be provided but you may bring your own.
