Bike to Work Day (Hours Vary)
Join us at more than 100 pit stops across the metro D.C. region for this free event for a fun and healthy way to start your day. The first 16,000 who register and visit a pit stop receive a free Bike to Work Day t-shirt. Enjoy giveaways, food and beverages at participating locations.

Conversations with Authors (1-2 p.m.)
Meet our panel of local authors as they discuss their books and journeys as writers in this virtual event. Authors include: Maida Malby, author of Boracay Vows; Jerry Markowitz, author of Exploring kindness and respect: poems; Nigel Sainsbury, author of One down, four up: my bikes, my life; and Kamakshi Murti, author of Bandilanka's Forgotten Lives.
Great Decisions: NATO's Future (1-3 p.m.)

Visit Green Spring Gardens' annual spring garden day and big plant sale. Shop from a variety of plant vendors, local artists and food vendors, and get gardening advice from master gardeners.
Super Snakes (10-11 a.m.)
Join a naturalist to meet live snakes and learn why snakes are important at Burke Lake Park. Then, head out on a hike to search for snakes and learn about their habitat and habits.
Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Saturday Storytime (10:30-11:30 a.m.)
Enjoy a storytime at the Great Falls Library to celebrate AANHPI month. Children and their caregivers can participate in music, movement, storytelling and play in this program that promotes early literacy skills.
Intergenerational Japanese Folding Fans (10:30 a.m.-noon)
Learn about the history and art of the Japanese folding fan at the City of Fairfax Regional Library. Make and decorate your own paper-folding fan to take home.
Fungus Among Us (11 a.m.-noon)
Get down and dirty with a naturalist and see how another kingdom lives at Lake Accotink Park. Investigate how one of our most common decomposers survives and thrives in our woods.
Fireside Chat: An Afternoon with Leslie Lautenslager (2-3 p.m.)
Local author Leslie Lautenslager will share stories from her memoir My Time With General Colin Powell: Stories of Kindness, Diplomacy, & Protocol at the John Marshall Library. Lautenslager worked with General Colin Powell for 25 years.

Music and Dance of Hawai’i (11 a.m.-noon)
Enjoy the music and dance of Hawai’i at the Reston Regional Library. The dancers will take you to the top of Haleakala, the fragrant fields of the Up Country and the beloved town of Lahaina in this dance focusing on the island of Maui.
Engineering Then and Now (noon-3 p.m.)
Come see the Colvin Run Mill in operation and discover historic and modern engineering. Learn how engineers today are building on work of the past to solve present and future problems.
Healthy Together Fairfax (noon-3 p.m.)

Summer Entertainment Series

The Summer Entertainment Series kicks off on June 1 with The United States Navy Band Cruisers. The Navy's premier music group will perform at the Workhouse Arts Center. The Summer Entertainment Series events will run through August. Learn more.
