REMINDER: Virtual Meeting to Discuss Investments This Thursday at 7:00pm

This is just a quick reminder that we have scheduled a virtual retiree meeting to discuss how we invest your retirement funds. Please note that the previous newsletter (March) had the wrong date for the meeting.  The meeting, to be conducted on Zoom, will be on this Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 7:00 pm. When Will the Retiree Cost of Living Increase Be Announced?

You may be wondering when we will know what your cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) will be known. The answer is very soon, on or before April 15th actually. The COLA is based on the increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI-U) as of March, which is produced and announced by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). 

We will send out a special newsletter, just as soon as it is available. If you want to see where the CPI data is posted, this is the link to the BLS website.
