Winter Wonderland
Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Visit Burke Lake Park for a Winter Wonderland celebration. Board the Holiday Express train ride, take a spin on the Carolers Carousel, play Gingerbread Man, mini golf and toast s'mores by the fire as you kickstart your holidays.

Holiday on the Farm
Friday and Saturday, Times Vary
Come celebrate the holidays with an evening of wagon rides, indoor activities, food, animal interactions, campfires and visits with Santa at Frying Pan Farm Park. Bring the whole family and enjoy the holiday festivities.

Flying Squirrel Campfire (6-7 p.m.)
Enjoy an evening around the campfire at the Hidden Oaks Nature Center in Annandale. Toast marshmallows over the embers and learn about flying squirrels that live in our area.

Holiday Card Exchange (All day)
Exchange your unused holiday cards for new designs at our holiday card display at the Reston Regional Library.
Little Bookworms (2-2:45 p.m.)
Join us for a storytime about a Jewish holiday or value, do some crafts and have a good time at the City of Fairfax Regional Library. For children ages 2 to 5 years old.
Coffee and a Classic (10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.)
Join us for the classic movie, Goldfinger, and a fresh cup of coffee at the Richard Byrd Library.

Santa at the Mill (Times Vary)
Experience old-fashioned holiday fun at the Colvin Run Mill. Visit Santa, tour the Miller's House decorated for the holidays, roast marshmallows and enjoy cocoa. Festive music and children's crafts complete the experience. Sensory-friendly times are also available.

The North Pole Post Office (10 a.m.-1 p.m.)
Visit the North Pole Post Office at the Kingstowne Library to write your letter to Santa. We'll give it our special stamp of approval and send it on its way. Festive attire is encouraged.
Learn About the Christmas Bird Count (10-11 a.m.)
Learn about the history of the Christmas bird count and how Green Spring Gardens is collecting bird count data and how it's used.
Holiday Open House (11 a.m.-1 p.m.)
Visit the Tysons-Pimmit Regional Library to celebrate the holidays. Hear music from the Marshall High School choir, make children's crafts and enjoy treats. No registration necessary.
Meet Newbery Award Winner Amina Luqman-Dawson (2:30-3:30 p.m.)
New York Times' bestselling author Amina Luqman Dawson will be at Chantilly Regional Library to discuss writing her Newbery Medal and Coretta Scott King Award-winning youth book, Freewater.
Candlelight Holiday Tour (4:45-7:45 p.m.)
Enjoy a candlelit tour of the Sully Historic Site, the 18th century home of Northern Virginia’s first congressman. Make a holiday craft and enjoy a hot beverage and cookies based on a historical recipe.

Penguins and Polar Bears (noon-1 p.m.)
Why do penguins and polar bears never meet? How does a penguin keep its eggs warm? Learn more about these creatures who enjoy the chilly temperatures through trail activities at Riverbend Park. The entire program is outdoors.

Catch a Critter! (1-2:30 p.m.)
Grab a net and join us for a special day with a scientist at Huntley Meadows to see, touch and study wetland creatures up close and personal. Use magnifying lenses to study their unique characteristics.
Birding for Beginners (8-11 a.m.)
Learn about the birds at Huntley Meadows. This program is for beginners and will start with a bird identification discussion.
Jigsaw Puzzle and Game Swap (3:15-3:45 p.m.)
Tired of the same old games and puzzles? Swap out your gently-used jigsaw puzzles and board games, cards and party games with other enthusiasts at the Chantilly Regional Library.
