Nationwide Emergency Alert Test on Oct. 4

• The Federal Emergency Management Agency, in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission, will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 2:20 p.m.
• The test will consist of two parts: A WEA test that will be sent to all consumer cellphones and an EAS test that will be sent to radios, TVs, cable systems, satellite providers and other systems.
