 Escape the Heat at the Cub Run Rec Center Leisure Pool
Hours vary
Stay cool this weekend at the Cub Run Rec Center Leisure Pool in Chantilly. This indoor water park that has something for everyone. Younger swimmers will love the in-water playground with slides, water jets, cannons and sprays. Older swimmers can slide into fun on 30 and 20 foot slides, float in the lazy river or spin around in the water vortex.

Family Supplies Drive
We need your help with donation requests to support families. Items needed include diapers, strollers, car seats, booster seats, high chairs and more.

Boat Rentals at Riverbend Park
Rent a canoe or kayak this weekend at Riverbend park. Canoes can seat up to three passengers and kayaks seat one person. Each rental includes a boat, a paddle and a personal flotation device.

Events at Tysons (6-9 p.m.)
Visit Tysons for family-fun events. Enjoy Music and Dance Fridays and learn salsa and bachata. Bring your folding chair and blanket for an outdoor family movie night screening of Boss Baby: The Family Business on The Plaza.

Free Dog Fridays (Noon-7 p.m.)
Throughout the summer, all dog adoptions will be fee-waived every Friday at the Animal Shelter. View available dogs, and get more details on our adoption process.
Music With Milkshake: Be a Part of the Band (11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.) Join the Milkshake Duo at the Lorton and George Mason Regional Libraries. This interactive performance encourages children to join in the music-making. Creative expression is encouraged with every song.
The HalfSmokes at Grist Mill Park (7:30-9 p.m.)
The HalfSmokes will perform favorites from the WHFS playlists of the radio station’s glory days—the late ‘70s to early ‘90s—combining melodic pop with rootsy rock.

Peruvian Cultural Heritage Night 'Centro Cultural Peru' (7:30-8:30 p.m.)
Celebrate Peru's cultural heritage with dance and music at Ossian Hall Park in Annandale. This event is part of the the free summer Spotlight by Starlight concerts series.

Ribbon Cutting - Community Services Room (10 a.m. to noon)
Celebrate the re-opening for the Community Services Room at Tysons Corner Center. The room provides expanded access to county and community resources that promote equity and create positive outcomes.
Arts in the Parks (10 a.m. and 7 p.m.)
Enjoy live performances at Burke Lake Park, Mason District Park, E.C. Lawrence Park and Wakefield Park on Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. and at Trinity Centre on Saturday evenings at 7 p.m.
Community Plant Swap (3-4 p.m.)
Are you on the hunt for different varieties of plants to add to your collection? Bring your cuttings, seeds, seedlings and transplants for this in-person plant swap at George Mason Regional Library. Please ensure plants and cuttings are pest-free.

Summer Sunday Concerts in the Park (3 p.m.)
Born and raised in West Virginia, Philip Bowen’s uplifting sound is heavily inspired by his Appalachian roots. From NPR’s “Mountain Stage” to his one million TikTok followers, Philip’s guitar and fiddle playing have captivated music lovers of all ages. Free admission.

STEAM Team Sundays: Robotics (2:30-3:15 p.m.)
Calling all young scientists! Explore electronics with beginner-friendly snap circuits at the George Mason Regional Library. You can even get artistic while learning robotics with doodle bots. Ages 6-12. No registration required.
Master Gardeners Plant Clinic (1-4 p.m.)
Got gardening questions? The Master Gardener Association is available at Pohick Regional Library this summer on Sunday afternoons. No registration. Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult.
