How is Your Pension Funded?

One question that we get fairly often is “what happens if the retirement system that I am in runs out of money?” This question is understandable given all of the information and mis-information out there regarding pensions. Fortunately, your Fairfax County retirement system is a defined benefit (DB) pension plan. This means that your benefit is defined in County Code and payable to you as long as you live. And, depending upon the survivor benefit you chose at retirement, your beneficiary will also receive a benefit for life should you die before they do.

Our Address Changed, But We Did Not Move

We have not moved, but our address has changed. Perhaps that does not make sense, so here's what is going on.

We are still located next to Fair Oaks Mall, on the back side of the mall across from Macy's and JCPenney. However, as you may or may not know, Fairfax County has followed the recommendations of the Confederate Names Task Force and has changed the name of some roads in the County.
