Community Meeting on Affordable Housing
and Homelessness Set for Jan. 30
On Jan. 30, Fairfax City is holding a community meeting to collect community feedback to inform the city’s Affordable Housing and Homelessness Strategic Plan.
We seek input from those who have experienced housing affordability challenges in the city. Please share your experiences and concerns to assist in shaping the city's Affordable Housing and Homelessness Strategic Plan, scheduled to be finalized this summer.

Housing affordability is an increasing concern for many communities. The city wants data-based solutions to assess local housing needs and find ways to improve residents' quality of life.
Last summer, the city began work on the Affordable Housing and Homelessness Strategic Plan. This year-long process includes gathering information, engaging stakeholders, and evaluating existing programs to develop a final project. The plan aims to tackle affordable housing and homelessness by understanding the affected population and fostering collaboration with community service providers and non-profits.
The strategic plan will build on the foundational knowledge of the housing market and conditions of Fairfax City, planned ongoing development, and community priorities and goals established in the Housing Assessment & Strategy Report (2023) and the Homelessness Task Force report (2024).
