Hats and Scarves Crocheted with Love (video)
A Warm Gesture, a Commission on the Arts program, provides handmade hats and scarves to people experiencing homelessness.
Pipe Replacement on Chain Bridge Road to Take Two Weeks
Fairfax City is replacing about 25 feet of sewer pipe on Rt. 123/Chain Bridge Road at the intersection of Armstrong Street.
Construction will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays, and work is expected to last about two weeks (weather permitting).
Traffic lanes will be closed as needed, and on-site workers will direct drivers through the work area. Expect delays and consider alternate routes during this time.

A city council meeting is slated for Jan. 9. View the agenda (subject to change). Meetings are held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday nights in City Hall. Watch meetings live on Channel 12 (COX/Verizon) and online, or catch a replay at 10 a.m. or 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The George Snyder Trail will be discussed during the Jan. 9 work session.
The Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 8.
