Schedule a Free In-home Safety Survey
The City of Fairfax Fire Department responded to nearly 4,000 emergency medical incidents last year, and the second most common cause of injury was falls.
Falls can lead to serious injury, loss of mobility, and a loss of independence. A quarter of adults over the age of 65 reported falling at least once in a given year. Fall victims could be a family member, a friend, a neighbor, or you.
To help make your home safer, the City of Fairfax Fire Department is conducting free in-home safety surveys. They’ll identify common hazards and offer solutions during the 30-to 60-minute appointment. They'll also evaluate fire safety in your home and make recommendations if needed.
Schedule your in-home safety survey today. Call 703-273-6272 or email FallReduction@fairfaxva.gov.

The ceremony will honor local residents who fell in Vietnam and honor all Vietnam veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces, and their families. All are welcome and invited to participate.
National Vietnam War Veterans Day is March 29, and this year marks the 50th anniversary of the events that took place in 1973, which led to that date being designated Remembrance Day. (Photo credit: National Today)
