 An open house was held Feb. 22 at the Sherwood Center to share the proposed plan to improve the intersection of Chain Bridge Road and Eaton Place. Residents spoke with members of the project team and completed a short survey. Watch video.

Share Memories of Your Favorite City of Fairfax Band Concerts
Longtime City of Fairfax Band Association Director Bob Pouliot is retiring this year. His final concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. May 13 at Katherine Johnson Middle School. We'll be highlighting his storied career in an upcoming edition of Cityscene.
As part of the story, we'd like to include memories of your favorite CFBA performances. He was appointed director in 1994, so there are plenty of concerts to choose from!

 Remembering Local Black History: Oral History Video
Etta Bowles Richards-Strozier (1916 -2023) was a lifelong resident of what is now the City of Fairfax, and her family has deep roots in the community as residents and property owners along Roberts Road.
We are grateful for her contributions to the Fairfax oral history project in 2010 and mourn her passing.

Help Shape the City's Title VI Program (15-min survey)
The city is establishing a Title VI Program to formalize this commitment and to recognize its responsibility to provide fairness and equity in all its programs, services, and activities.
A survey is available on Engage Fairfax to capture individual insights. The gathered feedback will ensure the final program is rooted in the specific needs of city residents.
Title VI and its related authorities provide that no person shall on the ground of race, color, national origin, sex, or disabilities be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal funds.

Women's History Month Program, March 12
 Celebrate Women’s History Month in Fairfax City by attending a free panel discussion titled How Women Compete On and Off the Field: The Impact of Title IX at 2 p.m. March 12 in the Fairfax City Hall Council Chamber. The panel discussion will be followed by a reception.

Earn Stormwater Utility Credits
The Virginia Conservation Assistance Program helps property owners address stormwater issues by supplementing the costs to implement best practices, including green roofs, rain gardens, rainwater harvesting, such as rain barrels, and impervious surface removal.
VCAP is available through a partnership among the City of Fairfax Stormwater Management Division, Fairfax County, and the Northern Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District.
All property owners in the City of Fairfax are encouraged to apply.
