Virtual Programs

Fairfax Village in the City
Fairfax Village in the City member applications (for Fairfax City residents only) and the volunteer applications are available at the Senior Center. For more information contact the Village Coordinator at 703.385.5738 or at village@fairfaxva.gov. Click here for more information
Volunteers Needed
The Fairfax Village in the City Advisory Board is seeking a Senior Center representative to join the party. The FVIC Advisory Board meets once a month at City Hall, the fourth Wednesday of the month (except August and December) from 6pm to 7:30pm.

Parking at Green Acres
Parking enforcement is now monitoring the area and issuing tickets. Please display your pass when visiting. The new Orange Parking Permits are FREE to Senior Center members with a membership card. Please see front desk to get your permit.

This magazine includes adult and children's programs, special events, cultural arts, Senior Center information, park maps, and more. The Parks and Rec Connected! magazine is published three times a year: Summer, Fall, and Winter/Spring.

Senior Council Information
The Young at Heart Senior Advisory Council members are volunteers who work as a group with the staff to enhance the programs and activities of the Fairfax City Senior Center.
2021/2022 Senior Center Advisory Members:

Election of New Senior Advisory Council Members
Due to the unusual circumstances created by COVID, the board has decided to extend the existing council positions through the summer. Elections are planned for September. Friday, August 26 - last day to submit applications. More information is available at the center.

We hope you are occupying yourselves while we are in social isolation. Below are some ways to stay busy while at home socially distancing! |

- Walk around your neighborhood or trails (while practicing 6ft social distancing)
- Calling and chatting with your family, friends and neighbors
- Write letters to family & friends
- Journaling what’s going on now or memories from your past
- Get in touch with your artistic/crafty side
- Do some spring cleaning
- Have a spa day (facial, manicure, pedicure, soak in a tub of bubbles, salts, or baking soda)
- Plant seeds in a pot or garden (mindful of outdoor frost date);
- Read books or magazines
- Cooking and preparing healthful foods
- Put your favorite music on and dance!
