The first Connecting Fairfax City for All community listening and learning session was held at February 4.
Watch the video to see an excellent presentation by Susan Gray, Historic Resources director.
Gray presented “Fairfax: Crossroads of Conflict in the American Civil War, 1861-65: How Those Events and Personalities Have Been Memorialized and Interpreted.”
Gray's presentation provided historical context of the Civil War. The talk highlighted events and personalities that led to post-war commemorations, monuments, street and neighborhood names, and historical markers.
