October is Bullying Prevention Month
Â
School counselors in PWCS will be delivering developmentally-appropriate bullying prevention lessons to elementary students throughout the month. Middle and high school students will also participate in bullying prevention lessons during the first semester. Students will learn how to recognize bullying behavior, support others, and seek help from trusted adults. Â
Â
Families play an important role in reinforcing these messages at home. If your child shares a bullying-related concern, listen calmly, thank them for speaking up, and contact your child’s school for support. Children do not need to determine whether a situation officially meets the definition of bullying before asking an adult for help. Working together, families and schools can help ensure that every student feels safe, respected, included, and supported.
