Follow Your Child's Reading Journey 📚
Stay connected as your child discovers new stories and builds a love of reading. Parents/guardians receive same-day email notifications of student-selected library materials checked out, renewed, or returned, and can also view their student's borrowing history.
Automated emails are sent to the primary parent/guardian email address, which is the first emergency contact designated in ParentVUE.
Please visit the Parent Library Controls webpage to learn more.

🌟 Student Insight Meetings Begin This Fall for Grades 6-11
This year, PWCS is launching Student Insight Meetings for all students in grades 6–11. During the first semester, each student will meet individually with their school counselor for a strengths-based conversation focused on self-reflection, goal setting, school engagement, and personal growth.
These meetings are designed to help students identify their strengths, build self-awareness, strengthen connections with trusted adults, and set meaningful goals for the year. These meetings complement academic advising, which takes place in the second semester and focuses on course selection, future planning, and graduation requirements.
Families can support this process by encouraging students to think about their strengths, interests, successes, and goals before their meeting and discussing what they learned afterward. Together, these conversations help students grow, plan, and thrive. For more information, please visit the Academic and Career Planning
webpage or contact your school counselor.

Apply for FUSE Funds for Secondary Student STEM Research 🧬
PWCS has launched the Funding for Understanding Science through Exploration (FUSE) funds initiative to support independent science and engineering research for secondary students during the 2026-27 school year.
Students can receive up to $250 per project to help cover materials and equipment for participation in local school science and engineering fairs. FUSE funds promote academic excellence, student voice, and future-ready STEM learning—while removing financial barriers to meaningful research.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. The high school deadline is December 7 and middle school deadline is December 14.
Contact your school’s science fair coordinator to learn more about deadlines and how to apply.
📢 PSAT Day: Heads Up, Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors!
Students in grades 9–11 will take the PSAT during the school day on Wednesday, October 14. The PSAT helps students prepare for the SAT and assess their college and career readiness. For juniors, the assessment also serves as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), which may lead to scholarship opportunities.
Learn more about the assessment, scores, and benefits, and explore test preparation resources like Khan Academy.
