PWCS Drives Toward a Cleaner Future With Propane Buses 🚌
PWCS is accelerating its commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency by expanding its fleet with cleaner, fuel-efficient propane-powered school buses. This year, 62 propane-powered school buses will be added with around 80 more on the way, cutting emissions, lowering costs, and delivering a quieter ride for students.
The buses warm up faster in cold weather and operate at noise levels about 50% lower than diesel models.

Learn More About the PWCS Budget
PWCS works closely with the Prince William County government to fund the programs, staff, and services that support more than 90,000 students. Through a long-standing revenue-sharing agreement, PWCS receives a portion of certain local revenues that help make our schools possible.
Understanding how schools are funded—and how those investments support classrooms—can help our community see how resources are used to serve students every day.
🎥 Check out this short video to learn more about how school funding works and why it matters for students, families, and our community.
The School Board will vote to approve the FY 2027 Budget and CIP at the March 18 meeting.
