❄️ Prepare for Inclement Weather and Hazardous ConditionsÂ
Â
As winter approaches, PWCS is committed to keeping families informed and prepared for any changes to school operations. The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority when making decisions.Â
Â
What you can do to prepare:Â
-
Download the EZ A2B app for real-time updates, especially during winter weather.Â
-
Verify your contact information is current in ParentVUE, including your email address and cell phone number, so you don’t miss important notifications.Â
- Keep an eye out for messages from PWCS. The division has begun using a new alert system to send updates about closures, delays, and weather-related changes.

Keep Thriving with Great Attendance – Every Day Counts!Â
Â
Every school day is important! Consistent attendance helps students remain engaged, build confidence, and stay on track both academically and socially.
Please avoid taking extra days off before or after winter break. Instruction continues right up to the start of winter break on December 22, 2025, and resumes on January 5, 2026. Review the 2025-26 school calendar for a complete list of holidays and observances throughout the year.
Unsure if your child should stay home due to illness? Check the When to Keep Students Home webpage or reach out to your school nurse for guidance.
Need more information about attendance? For details about attendance expectations, visit the PWCS Attendance Guidelines webpage. The guidelines provide comprehensive information to help families support strong attendance all year long.

Approved School Calendar for 2026-27 School Year 🗓️
Â
PWCS has adopted the 2026-27 instructional calendar designed with input from families and staff.
Â
Students will start classes on August 24, 2026, enjoy a three-day Thanksgiving break, and have a two-week winter break from December 21, 2026, through January 1, 2027, with schools reopening January 4.
Â
Spring break will run from March 22–29, 2027, including a teacher workday on March 29, and the school year will conclude on June 17, 2027.
Â
The calendar reflects community priorities and supports student learning, family needs, and staff planning, and families are encouraged to review it early to plan trips and appointments with minimal disruption. Â

Helping Students Build Healthy AI Habits
Â
AI tools are becoming part of everyday learning, and families play a key role in guiding AI use among their children. By starting conversations and setting clear expectations, you can help your child use AI safely, responsibly, and thoughtfully.
Â
Focus on these essentials:
- Start the Conversation
- Encourage Responsible Use
- Educate About AI Risks
- Empower Critical Thinking
- Protect Privacy
Â
Parents and guardians don’t need to be AI experts. What matters most is staying engaged. By learning together and modeling healthy habits, you help your child build the skills to think critically, protect their privacy, and use AI as a tool for learning, not a shortcut for completing assignments.
