Superintendent Presents Vision 2025 Progress to School Board
Superintendent of Schools Dr. LaTanya D. McDade presented a comprehensive update on the PWCS Vision 2025 Launching Thriving Futures Strategic Plan during the November 18 School Board meeting, celebrating four years of measurable progress, strengthened systems, and significant gains for students across the school division.
“In just four years, PWCS moved from planning change to achieving sustainable progress for all students,” Dr. McDade shared. “This presentation shows our journey—how we turned strategy into action and measurable results.”
The presentation features notable successes, including a graduation rate of 94.8%, a 6.7 percentage point decrease in chronic absenteeism, and more.

StarBot is designed to help website visitors find information and get answers to frequently asked questions using content available on www.pwcs.edu. Whether you're looking for student enrollment information, have questions about the student calendar, or just need to find something on the website, StarBot is here to assist.
Currently in its pilot phase, StarBot is learning and improving – and your feedback is essential! Try it out and let us know what you think.

Five Ways to Thrive in Applying to Specialty Programs
1. Explore & Envision- Begin by researching your options: review the specialty program descriptions, a, check transportation eligibility, and understand any specific requirements.
2. Act with Purpose- Complete the online application by the posted deadline of February 1, 2026. Please note: Center for Fine and Performing Arts (CFPA) applications close December 14, 2025.
3. Trust the Process- Once a student meets the program qualifications, their name will be entered into a lottery. Lottery results will be shared with families by March 1, 2026, and families must confirm acceptance or decline participation by March 5, 2026.
4. Prepare for the Opportunity- promptly complete all required next steps to secure your spot in the program,
5. Reflect & Recommit- After the results—and regardless of outcome—take time to reflect: What did we learn about our student’s interests and goals?

🍽️ PWCS Launches Food Pantry Pilot Program
PWCS, in partnership with Prince William County Community Foundation, the C.H.O.W. Wagon, Amazon and other partners, has established 10 food pantries inside various schools emphasizing the importance of serving students and families in need. C.D.
