Cell phone-free education policy in effect for the new school year
This school year all students will follow PWCS' new cell phone-free education policy. This means that students must turn off and put away their phones and other personal electronic communication devices throughout the school day, with medical and instructional exceptions. The policy creates classroom environments where students are fully present and supports focused learning, safe spaces, and healthier tech habits.
You can join a PWCS webinar on August 6 or visit the Cell Phone-Free Education webpage to learn more.

Don't Delay: Required Immunizations Due August 15
Virginia law requires all students to have up-to-date immunizations and documentation submitted before the first day of school.
The deadline to provide proof of these immunizations is August 15, 2025, for the upcoming school year. Students who do not meet the requirements by this date will not be permitted to start school on August 18, 2025, until documentation is provided.
Don't risk any delays or disruptions! You can learn more about the requirements and how to complete everything on time by visiting the Required Immunizations for the 2025-26 School Year webpage.
You can also contact your school's nurse if you need help getting records updated.
