PWCS kicks off Black History Month with a focus on the importance of Historically Black Colleges and Universities

Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have played a vital role in the education of African Americans for over 150 years.

Students at Potomac High School and C.D. Hylton High School took part in HBCU College Fairs to learn more about the opportunities these colleges and universities offer.

February is Financial Aid Awareness Month

Students and families are reminded to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form. The final deadline for submitting the FAFSA® is June 30, 2024. Many scholarships require a FAFSA® on file for distribution and offers.

National School Counseling Week, February 5-9, is a time to focus attention on the unique contributions of school counselors within PWCS and highlight the tremendous impact they have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.

Aviation maintenance classes in PWCS provide students with unique hands-on learning opportunities

February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month. PWCS has numerous CTE programs that prepare our students to be college and career ready, including the Aviation Maintenance Technology program at Unity Reed High School.
