Conservation efforts across PWCS amount in big savings and energy consciousness
October is Energy Action Month in PWCS. Environmental literacy and fiscal stewardship are important initiatives the Division focuses on year-round. The PWCS Energy and Sustainability Team specializes in tracking utility data and analyzing those metrics to ensure building equipment is operating in an energy efficient manner. The team also provides resources to our schools for teaching environmental literacy and energy conservation.
Take a look at some of the ways our staff and students are taking action to be more energy conscious and save money.

The Sudley Elementary School community gathered to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The community marked the historical milestone with one of the school’s favorite traditions, “Fun Day, Bum Day,” an event that featured carnival games, prizes, and delicious treats. The event was also a reunion of sorts for special guests including past principals, teachers, staff, and school alumni who, along with others in the school community, took tours of the building, thumbed through old school yearbooks, and reminisced about the school’s successful history.
