The Wellness Room at Potomac Shores Middle School provides relief from stressors and frustration
Potomac Shores Middle School has created a dedicated space to promote mental health awareness and wellness all year round. The Wellness Room is designed as a space for students to take 5-10 minutes to reset. Within the space, students will find tools and coping strategies to self-regulate their emotions and calm down. The Wellness Room is one example of initiatives and efforts across PWCS to support the mental health and well being of students and staff.

International night at Gar-Field High School promotes inclusivity and supports the Read2Lead initiative
Students at Gar-Field High School hosted an international night, complete with fashion shows, food, and dancing which showcased and highlighted the diversity in their school community and across the county. Proceeds from ticket sales are going to Read2Lead, a non-profit organization founded by Gar-Field alumna, Samantha Boetang, which builds and stocks libraries for communities in Ghana.
