Battlefield High School senior Evan Nichols brings home Olympic Gold
Evan Nichols may be a senior at Battlefield High School, but he was a rookie on the 2022 USA Paralympic gold medal-winning sled hockey team. This is the fourth consecutive gold medal for Team USA.
Battlefield High celebrated Nichols’ return from Beijing with a drum line parade around the school. Students and staff lined the hallways to congratulate him and celebrate the team's gold medal.
Nichols is continuing his training and hopes to play again for Team USA. He has his sights set on the next Paralympic games in 2026 in Italy.

Covington-Harper Elementary School students explore career pathways in music
As Music in Our Schools Month comes to a close, students at Covington-Harper Elementary School had the opportunity to learn about careers in the music industry. The interactive lesson let students experience what it is like to be a music teacher, composer, jingle writer, recording artist, DJ, and more.
Renaming ceremony celebrates a new beginning for Unity Reed High School

A student-led project at Gar-Field High School paid tribute to women who made an impact throughout history and in the lives of students and staff.
Spring 2022 SOL Testing Reminder
Each year, students at various grade levels are expected to participate in SOL testing or alternative assessments. The Spring 2022 SOL Non-Writing testing window will begin for students on May 4, 2022. Expedited retakes of SOL tests will be available for qualifying students beginning June 1, 2022.

SOL Test History now in ParentVUE
A student’s Standards of Learning (SOL) test history is now available in ParentVUE. Families can log into their ParentVUE account and see their student’s SOL test scores.
PLEASE NOTE: Some test scores from prior years may not appear in ParentVUE. Any score for an SOL test taken in Spring 2021 or later should be available. Spring 2022 SOL results will begin to post after the testing window for this year closes and continue posting through mid-summer.
PWCS will no longer mail home score reports to families over the summer.
