PWCS celebrates Music in Our Schools Month — Meet Bull Run Middle School band teacher Connor Haupt
Connor Haupt is a home-grown PWCS teacher. He attended Tyler Elementary School, Alvey Elementary School, Bull Run Middle School, and graduated from Battlefield High School. Now Haupt is the band teacher at Bull Run Middle School, where his personal music journey began when he was a student there.
Reflecting on the school years which lead to his career, Haupt said, “We have a lot of really great teachers in Prince William County Schools, and I consider myself lucky to have been taught by them, but also lucky to teach alongside of them.”

Bel Air Elementary School’s dual language immersion program builds strong foundations in biliteracy development in English and Spanish
When Antoinette McDonald became principal of Bel Air Elementary School in 2016, she sought ways to bring the world to her students. After hearing about Participate Learning’s Global School Program, she brought it to Bel Air Elementary. Then in the 2019-20 school year, she added Participate Learning’s Dual Language Spanish Immersion Program starting with kindergarten students. The same PWCS curriculum and standards are taught, but students in the program receive 50% of their instruction delivered in Spanish, and 50% in English.
