Applying to a PWCS Specialty Program? Help sessions available
PWCS provides excellent opportunities for students in elementary, middle, and high school to explore a wide variety of special programs in our schools. Specialty programs focus on career exploration, subject area concentration, and college/university preparation.
Deadlines are approaching to apply to for the 2022-23 school year. Application information is available on the Specialty Program webpage.
Online Specialty Program Application Help Sessions will be offered on January 24-28, January 31, and February 1 for anyone needing assistance with applying. Learn more.

Read together and learn: Digital books for K-5 |
PWCS has made access available to a new resource that connects elementary school students to free digital books. Unite for Literacy is an online portal through which elementary level students and families can view digital books on a variety of topics. The digital books are written in English (some are available in Spanish) but can be heard by voice narration in more than 50 languages.
PWCS students and instructional staff access the portal through their PWCS Clever learning platform. From home, families can go directly to the Unite for Literacy website.
Potomac High School senior Samantha Boadu selected to national Naval Air Force scholarship program
Congratulations to Samantha Boadu, a senior at Potomac High School, who is one of only 20 Navy and Marine Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) cadets in the nation selected during a highly competitive board process for the 2022 Commander, Naval Air Force Private Pilot Scholarship Program.
