PWCS commemorated the opening of Potomac Shores Middle School, the Division's 17th middle school, on Thursday, October 7, 2021, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by students, staff, School Board members, and other elected officials.

Bull Run Middle School celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with a family event, book talks, student presentations, and more!
A month-long celebration of Hispanic heritage at Bull Run Middle School culminated in a family event that showcased student projects focused on researching and appreciating Hispanic culture. The event also featured Hispanic music, art, dance, and food.
“I’m very proud of the work that our teachers have done to really engage students in this process and really focus on the accomplishments of Hispanic people within our country and also within our local community,” said Matthew Phythian, principal of Bull Run Middle.

COVID-19 vaccination clinics are available in Prince William County
Community Vaccination Center (CVC)
The CVC is offering first, second, third, and booster doses for the Pfizer BioNtech vaccine. Moderna and Johnson & Johnson will also be offered. Vaccines are free. Both appointments and walk-ins are available.
It is open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the former Gander Mountain store, 14011 Worth Avenue, Woodbridge, VA 22192.

Manassas Mall Clinic
The Manassas Mall site is offering first, second, third, and booster doses for the Pfizer BioNtech vaccine. Moderna and Johnson & Johnson will also be offered on various days. Vaccines are free.

*Education staff (e.g., teachers, support staff, daycare workers) are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine booster shot, if they received a second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at least six months ago. Learn more from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The School Board will hold a public meeting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20.
Over 29 countries are represented in PWCS classrooms, thanks to Participate Learning, a program that helps international educators find teaching opportunities in the United States. As cultural ambassadors, these teachers share their knowledge with students while experiencing a new country themselves. The School Division currently hosts 113 teachers through Participate Learning.
It's Custodial Services Employees Appreciation Week! Maria Perez is the custodial manager at Patriot High School and has been a PWCS employee for nearly 30 years!
