Evaluation and selection of instructional materials
PWCS Regulation 653-1 establishes responsibilities, procedures, and methods of the evaluation and selection of instructional materials. PWCS seeks to provide instructional materials that support the total educational program and reflect the principles of intellectual freedom and the students’ right to information. The regulation provides the review procedure for sensitive and controversial instructional materials.
Building a positive and welcoming culture for all is a priority at PWCS. Educators are encouraged to participate in activities and programs that educate students and families about ways to practice positive conflict resolution and acceptance of others. Visit the PWCS National Bullying Prevention Month webpage for resources.
