"Can I get a tassel with that?" Class of 2020 celebrated at cap and gown drive-through ceremonies
This year’s cap and gown pick-up looked differently for PWCS graduating seniors. But thanks to our dedicated school staff, this milestone event was no less special. With signs lining the way and cheers from teachers, administrators, and support staff, the members of the Class of 2020 drove past the front of their high schools and were handed their caps and gowns through their car windows.

The Show Must Go On for Colgan Theatre Students
Theatre students at Colgan High School deliver a virtual performance of The Tempest
Lanny Warkentien, theatre teacher and director at Charles J. Colgan Sr. High School, has taken the saying, “The show must go on” to a new level. He devised a way for his students to perform their end of year performance of The Tempest, originally slated for public debut in early May, virtually. Using a video conferencing tool, Lanny recorded students performing scenes from the play and then edited them together into a full show.
The result was a visual tribute to the talent and resiliency of the student performers. While the virtual play may not have been the ideal way for Colgan High School theatre students to end their year of performances, for some, including Alicia, a junior at Colgan High and stage manager for the Tempest, the virtual performance, “was one of my favorite moments, ironically.”
