Note About COVID-19 Communication
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises a self-quarantine of 14 days if you have had exposure to a person with the COVID-19 virus. Since PWCS closed more than 45 days ago, PWCS is no longer going to communicate positive COVID-19 cases of staff or students recently diagnosed, but who have not been in a school or facility since March 13. PWCS will continue to communicate active new cases and provide community notifications of any employee or student who may have been in a school, or PWCS facility, within a previous 14 day period, and who notifies PWCS of a positive test (such as the recent food services employee case), or if the Health District asks us to do so.

Share the love for our PWCS teachers
Join us all next week, May 4-8, in celebrating teachers across Prince William County Public Schools. Our educators are working hard to stay connected with students and inspire learning despite the closure of our school buildings.
While there will be no in-person hugs or gestures of appreciation, we have a couple of ways you can celebrate our teachers virtually.
“Six Words of Gratitude” for Teacher Appreciation Week
- Grab some poster board or a large sheet of paper.
- Using no more than six words, describe why you appreciate (one or several) PWCS teachers. Make your words large and legible. (Colorful too!)
- Snap a photo of the student(s) holding the homemade sign.
- Email the picture to us at submit@pwcs.edu by May 6 at 5 p.m.
- We’ll share as many as we can on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Digital Thank-You Notes
The Virginia Lottery is encouraging students, parents and the general public to send notes of appreciation to Virginia's deserving public school teachers. Your favorite teacher could win a Virginia vacation and prizes for your school! Make your favorite teacher smile with a digital thank-you note.
