Alvey Elementary School students think outside the box
For students from Alvey Elementary School, the creative juices are flowing! A STEM challenge was issued on the Alvey Elementary Facebook page: find any kind of empty box (tissue, shoe, cereal, etc.) and use supplies around your house to turn it in to any type of new creation. Completed projects included instruments, a root beer dispenser complete with ice, a mini house, a finger skate/bike park, even a F-150 truck, and more!
Looking for the light at Fitzgerald Elementary School

Students at Fitzgerald Elementary School were encouraged to create decorative lighthouses to display in their front windows. The school staff sent the challenge to their students through a recent Facebook post.
“Have some fun with your family while practicing social distancing. Place a lighthouse in a window of your home,” the post read. “When families go on car rides or walks during this time of quarantine, they can hunt for lighthouses.”
They created model lighthouses from materials at home, drew them by hand, or found samples online to color in. By placing these "beacons of hope" in their windows, Fitzgerald Elementary staff and students are helping uplift the community.
