Completing this form for each school-aged child in every household is how we ensure we receive all the resources available to us from the federal government. For more information, please visit the Federal Impact Aid Survey page.

National Family Engagement Month
This month reminds us that families are children's first and most important teachers, advocates, and nurturers. Strong family support is vital to student well-being and success.
FCPS has many resources designed to increase engagement and partnerships with families while fostering academic success and social-emotional growth.
Additionally, every school has a family liaison who will welcome and orient families, and help them understand the school's culture, policies, procedures, and practices. Our school’s family liaison is Wafika Albani and she has been in contact with so many of our families. Ms. Albani helps connect families to resources in the community. In her role, a family liaison might also assist a family in transitioning to a new school and encourage family-school partnerships to help ensure their student's success and healthy development.
If you have questions or would like more information, feel free to contact Wafika directly at her work cell number: 571-294-4794 and/or use email to connect: wmalbani@fcps.edu . You may also call our school office 703-313-4000 to connect with Ms. Albani or to ask for her to reach out to you. She’s usually in the building every day and welcomes the chance to work with you and your family members.
Homecoming Week at Key Center School
Key Center School celebrated a joyful and inclusive Homecoming Week filled with activities and school spirit. Students cheered on their Homecoming King and Queen, and one senior joined the pep rally court virtually from home.
The festivities also included an adapted football kick using a special apparatus created by APE teacher Greg Hoobchaak, along with creative outfits for the Fall Parade. Thank you to everyone who helped make the week so much fun. Go Rockets! 🎉🚀
National School Psychology Week
This week, we celebrate the important work school psychologists do to help every student thrive. This year’s theme, “Inspire Connection,” recognizes how school psychologists build meaningful relationships, strengthen collaboration, and help school communities flourish.
Key Center is grateful for our school psychologist, Ted Tynan, and all he does to support our students and programs!

Native American Heritage Month
Native American Heritage Month is a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native Americans. It is also a time to raise a general awareness about the unique challenges they have faced both historically and in the present, and the ways in which tribal citizens have worked to conquer these challenges.Learn more about the heritage months, celebrations, and traditions celebrated in FCPS.
