Principals Message

We made it through the first quarter! Thank you for your continued support. As we begin the next quarter, please remember that regular school attendance is important. We know many families have been dealing with illness, and students should stay home when they are sick. When they’re feeling well, please send them to school so they don’t miss out on learning and time with their classmates.

A reminder that there will be no school on Monday, November 2, or Tuesday, November 3, for teacher workdays. We hope you enjoy the long weekend with your families—and find some time to read together! Report cards will be available in ParentVUE on November 9. Paper copies will no longer be sent home.

Have a wonderful long weekend! I’m also sharing a great photo of our amazing safety patrols helping car riders.

Special Education Family Conference

Hear From Parents, Students, and Others at the Special Education Family Conference Opening Session

The annual Special Education Family Conference, Stronger Together: Connecting Families and Schools, will take place on Saturday, November 14, at Hayfield Secondary School.

New this year, the conference will open with an inspiring panel discussion featuring voices from across our school community: an FCPS student, a high school principal, a community partner, and an FCPS parent.

Panelists will share personal experiences and practical ideas for building supportive, inclusive communities where students can thrive both in and beyond the classroom.

Register to attend and visit the Special Education Family Conference webpage to learn more about the panelists. Email questions to SpecialEdFamilyConf@fcps.edu.
