Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weekend! The Lemon Road families had plenty of opportunity to get outside and spend time together with our Movie Night Friday Night and PTA Soccer Games on Saturday at Marshall High School. Thank you to everyone who volunteered, participated, or supported us.
We are looking forward to the Book Fair, Family Night, Restaurant Nights, Veteran's Day recognitions, and our annual Variety Show still to come this fall. See below for details.
Look at the final photo to see if you can figure out what the October Secret Staff Spirit Day theme was... we have one each month. Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support!

Return your Federal Impact Aid Survey. FCPS is asking all families to fill out a Federal Impact Aid Survey. The form is available in SIS ParentVUE under Online Packets, which is in the upper right corner of the screen after logging in. Please complete it as soon as possible. Completing this form is how we ensure we receive all the resources available to us from the federal government. For more information, please visit the Federal Impact Aid Survey page.

Students in Grades 3 - 6 can bring their bike helmets and bicycles to school beginning Wednesday, November 4 to participate in our annual PE Bike Unit. FCPS will deliver additional helmets and bikes for shared use during PE instruction.
-
Label all jackets, sweatshirts, and hoodies to ensure they are returned!
- Visitors to school events download the Raptor Safe App prior to visiting Lemon Road. Arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of an event.
- All students wear their LRES polos on field trip days.
- Students in grades 4 - 6 should bring their agendas home each night. Parents/guardians should regularly check their child's agenda.
- Apply for Free/Reduced Lunch which also gives opportunities for scholarships for other school events and fees. New applications are required every year. If your family needs assistance with scholarships or supplies, apply using the link above and contact Mrs. Reyes Gomez (Family Liaison) at kereyesgomez@fcps.edu.
-
Parents/legal guardians should submit full-day absences using ParentVUE. FCPS school attendance policies will be enforced. Parents will be held accountable for students who do not attend school regularly.
- Add money to your child's lunch account using MySchoolBucks. Check out what is being served each month in the cafeteria using MealViewer.
Each year, Lemon Road holds a book fair that extends during the school day as well as one evening for family shopping. The books and materials are delivered on November 12. Lemon Road students can shop during the school day OR by coming to Family Night on Thursday, November 19. Join us to shop, volunteer, set up, or break down. If you are available, email Ms. Gabby Burke at goburke@fcps.edu. Parents are able to shop online and set up an eWallet to safely allow their children to shop at school here! Finally, click this link to make a donation to help us ensure every child can choose a book from the fair this year.
As featured in photos here, our Storybook Pumpkin Festival is currently going on in the library! Students can showcase pumpkins that have been painted to represent a favorite character (not poked, cut, or carved) throughout this week. All pumpkins go home on Friday, October 30.

Use this form to nominate a staff member for any of the above categories!
We are excited to welcome veterans and members of the US Military to Lemon Road Elementary School on Wednesday, November 11th, to celebrate you and your service to our country. We will begin with a light breakfast at 8:30 a.m. in the cafeteria followed by classroom visits to share your stories and/or to read a book. To ensure a smooth plan for the day we are kindly requesting some information from you in this Veterans Day Breakfast Google form if you are planning on joining.
Lemon Road will also celebrate the veterans and members of the military in our community with a school-wide slideshow. To include someone special, email a photo, their name, and branch of the U.S. Armed Forces to Gabby Burke at goburke@fcps.edu by Monday, November 9.
Our PTA is hard at work. Thank you Room Parents for helping ensure all students have a polo for their fall field trips. Here are current PTA initiatives:

Donate your gently used coats and winter gear: For the month of October, the PTA is collecting gently used coats and winter gear of any size. The coats are washed and then exchanged with other local schools to ensure all kids have warm gear for the winter.
-
Mabel's Labels: As the weather gets cooler, the number of jackets left behind in lost and found grows! The PTA has partnered with Mabel's Labels to help you get quality labels for your kids items! Just enter in Lemon Road PTA in the search bar.
We Need YOU: Joining the PTA is a key indicator that you support the school-home partnership that we foster. Email lemonroadpta@gmail.com to get involved!
