 Good Afternoon Haycock Community,
I’m writing to share that Heather Boyd will be on leave for the remainder of the school year as she tends to personal matters. We’ll miss Heather and wish her all the best.
We’re excited to welcome Cali Lowenberg as our new assistant principal! Cali joins us from Glen Forest Elementary. Cali has also served as an AP at Westgate and Oak Hill Elementary. Her two children attend Chesterbrook in the McLean Pyramid. Cali’s appointment is ongoing, and she’ll be joining us starting Wednesday, October 28. Below this message is a short bio on Cali so you can get to know her a bit better.
Please join me in giving Cali a warm Haycock welcome! I also want to thank Krystal Styles for all her hard work and support over the past few months as our solo AP. We’re grateful for everything she has done.
Best, Jeremy
Dear Haycock Staff and Community,
I’m thrilled to introduce myself as Haycock Elementary School’s new Assistant Principal! As a parent of two sons in the McLean Pyramid, I’m especially excited to join Haycock and be part of the school community where my family and I live. I feel a special connection to this community and look forward to getting to know more of the students, families, staff, and neighbors who make Haycock such a special place.
I have served as an assistant principal at Oak Hill Elementary, Westgate Elementary, and Glen Forest Elementary. These experiences have strengthened my leadership skills, deepened my commitment to building strong relationships, and given me the opportunity to support students, staff, and families in meaningful ways. I’m eager to bring what I’ve learned to Haycock and to continue learning alongside this talented school community.
My journey in education began in 2006 as a classroom teacher at Stratford Landing and Fort Hunt Elementary Schools in Alexandria, where I discovered my passion for supporting students and helping build strong school communities. In May 2021, I earned my PreK–12 Administration and Supervision license through the University of Virginia’s Accelerated Certification Cohort.
When I’m not at school, you’ll likely find me and my husband Seth at McLean Little League or at a basketball court. We also enjoy traveling, relaxing at Lake Anna on a long weekend, and going for walks with our Golden Retriever, Caesar.
I’m delighted to be joining Haycock and look forward to meeting you, learning about this community, and working together to help our students thrive. I’m excited to be part of a school so close to home and to contribute to the community my family is proud to be part of.
Warm regards,
Cali Loewenberg
