Dear Mantua families,
We are thrilled to highlight our Lunch Bunches this week! Lunch bunches provide a variety of opportunities for students to connect in meaningful ways with staff members and other students in a quieter setting. They may include activities such as board games like chess or conversations with other students, including our military-connected lunch groups. This week, Ms. Smith, one of our 6th-grade teachers, hosted an ASL lunch bunch with over 30 students! Everyone is learning the ASL alphabet and some common signs. Lunch bunches promote inclusivity and creativity among students and staff. We also peeked into a Kindergarten classroom and caught them being creative with pumpkin faces!

Mantua Family Workshop
At Mantua, we value our partnership with families and want to create opportunities for us to learn and grow together.
This year, we plan quarterly Family Workshops to help families learn more about our school, FCPS programs, and ways to support student success. We will offer workshops both in person and virtually, depending on the topic and family interest.
Our first Mantua Family Workshop topic is: Understanding Mantua’s School Improvement Plan (SIIP): Learn about Mantua’s school improvement goals, how we identify areas of growth, and how we work together to support student success.
Please complete the RSVP Here to let us know if you plan to attend our first Family Workshop. We will serve coffee and light refreshments.

Federal Impact Aid Survey
FCPS is asking all families to fill out a Federal Impact Aid Survey. The form is available in SIS ParentVUE under Online Packets, which is in the upper right corner of the screen after logging in. Please complete it as soon as possible. Schools will provide paper forms to families who have not completed the survey in ParentVUE starting Wednesday, October 28.
Completing this form for each school-aged child in every household is how we ensure we receive all the resources available to us from the federal government. For more information, please visit the Federal Impact Aid Survey page.
