Finding our way to the end of the quarter!
Good afternoon, Irving Community,
As we head into a new week, we’re grateful for the partnership and support of our students, families, and staff. This is the final week of the first quarter, and students will have a two-hour early release on Friday, October 30. Please review the early release bell schedule in the Irving Announcements section of this newsletter. There will be no after-school activities that day.
Picture Day took place Thursday and Friday. When the photos are ready, Victor O’Neill Studios will email information about ordering. Students also received ID cards to place in the ID card slots on their Yondr pouches.
As we close out the quarter, here are a few exciting events and highlights:
- Congratulations to the students and staff who worked hard to prepare for this weekend’s performances of Princess Party Smackdown and In the Forests of the Night. Well done!
- Our cross-country athletes have been doing an outstanding job all season. Their final meet is November 7 at Liberty Middle School. We’re so proud of you!
- Fall Fest is Thursday, October 29, and will be the only after-school activity offered that day. Tickets are required.
- Horseman Horticulture will be featured at this week’s annual State of Our Schools event.
Please remember that Monday, November 2, and Tuesday, November 3, are student holidays. Our next newsletter will be sent on November 8.
With appreciation,
Emily Cincinnati
Principal

Irving Middle School Fall Fest
On Thursday, October 29th, from 2:30-4:00 PM, students are invited to stay after for Fall Fest, a fun Irving tradition. Fall Fest will be the only after-school activity on this day. Kiss and Ride Pick-up will begin at 4:00 PM. Late buses will run on this day, departing the school at 4:25 PM. Tickets for Fall Fest may be purchased for $5 through MySchoolBucks until tomorrow. No tickets will be sold after 10/26.
The ticket for Fall Fest includes a small keepsake, snacks and a drink, an opportunity to play basketball in the gym, to watch a movie in Barker Hall, to dance to the music of “DJ Lay” and to hang out with friends.
Any parents who could volunteer to help with this event are encouraged to sign up.
Library News
As the first quarter draws to an end, 7th grade students are finishing their first-quarter book projects in English class. We expect to see all of the library books used for that project returned soon. To help students remember what they have borrowed, library overdue notices will be emailed on Saturday evening, October 24th. Please help your student locate their library books and pack them so that they can be returned Monday.
It has been nice to have conversations with a few of the 7th grade students as they finish a book and report back to us their reviews. Our goal is to help everyone find a book that will want them to make reading a habit.
Thanks!
Ms. Monk & Mr. Brizek, Irving Middle School Librarians

Entries may be submitted on-line at the following link, and must include a .pdf fillable entry form and your art work (dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, or visual arts). Please follow the file naming conventions in the upload links. Additionally, you may turn in your work of art to the entry box in the school office. If you need to submit your digital file via email attachment or flash drive, contact the Reflections Chair at irvingmspta@gmail.com no later than October 31, 2026.
