Dates to Know

October 27:  PIcture Retakes and 6th Grade Panoramic Picture:  If you would like a retake for a picture package previously purchased, let your child's teacher know and send the package back to school.

October 30:  End of 1st Quarter, 2-Hour Early Release at 1:50, no supervision.  Costume Spirit Day

November 1 @ 2am: End of Daylight Savings Time—turn clocks back 1 hour.

November 1/2:  All Saints' Day/Dia de Los Muertos, Religious and Cultural Observances

November 2 and 3:  Teacher Workdays, No School for Students

November 3:  6th Grade Bake Sale, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, outside near the voting entrance at Door 3

November 5:  Parent Meeting on the topic of Referrals for Fulltime Advanced Academic Service, 6:30pm, Camelot Library

November 8 (Sunday):  Diwali Religious and Cultural Observance

November 10:  PTA Restaurant Fundraising Night at Silver Diner, 5-8pm

November 11:  Veterans Day (school is in session)  

November 12:  Progress Reports go home

November 12:   Parent Preview of FLE materials, 4-5pm (see article below)

November 18:  3-Hour Early Release for K-6 at 12:50

November 19:  Thanksgiving Lunch and Classroom Visits (Click HERE for the schedule)

November 25-27:  Thanksgiving Holiday Break

November 30-December 1:  Book Fair

December 1:  PTA Children's Business Fair, 5-7pm (All are welcome to come shop)

October 30 Spirit Day

On this day, students may wear school-appropriate parts of a costume, or another fun item such as a hat.  Students must wear PE and recess appropriate shoes. No masks, hoods or excessive face paint, no inflatables, no accessories (no play weaponry).  Thanks!  This day is also a 2-hour early release day.

Thanksgiving Lunch and Classroom Visit

Veterans Day-Wall of Heroes

Yesterday we sent home a form on which you can create a display to celebrate a Veteran(s) or Veterans in general.  We will create a a wall of heroes from teh submissions.

Please Return Your Federal Impact Aid Survey

FCPS is asking all families to fill out a Federal Impact Aid Survey. The form is available in SIS ParentVUE under Online Packets, which is in the upper right corner of the screen after logging in. Please complete it as soon as possible. Schools will provide paper forms to families who have not completed the survey in ParentVUE starting Wednesday, October 28.

Completing this form for each school-aged child in every household is how we ensure we receive all the resources available to us from the federal government. For more information, please visit the Federal Impact Aid Survey page.

Do you have a creative idea for a business? Love making things, inventing, or selling your own creations? The Children's Business Fair is your chance to turn your big ideas into a real business!

This year the business fair will be held on December 1 from 5-7pm. Spaces are limited.
