It's that time of year for our community to nominate outstanding employees from Robinson Secondary School who demonstrate excellence in their field! Our Robinson Middle and High School winners will be submitted for consideration at the pyramid, region and division levels. We believe that our staff is truly exceptional and that the work we do for our students deserves celebration beyond our school. So please consider nominating anyone who works in our building that you believe has made an impact on you.

The nomination form is linked here. The link will be open through Wednesday November 4, 2026 until 3:00pm.

FCPS Seeks Community Input on Middle School AAP Centers

FCPS is exploring a plan to offer Full-Time Advanced Academic Program (AAP) services at every middle school. Under the proposal, students who qualify could attend their neighborhood middle school and take advanced classes with other AAP students. The School Board has approved community engagement at Franklin, Hayfield, Holmes, Key, and Whitman middle schools, where programs could open for the 2027-28 school year. The proposal is still under consideration, and the School Board is expected to make a decision in December.

Each community meeting offers in-person and virtual participation. Upcoming meetings are scheduled for:

  • Whitman Middle: Thursday, October 22, at 6 p.m.

Current middle school students will remain at their assigned AAP centers through middle school. Learn more and find meeting sign-up forms on the Middle School AAP Centers page.

The Fall PTSO "Thank you! Drive"

The PTSO is organizing a donation drive of store bought individually wrapped crackers, chips, candy or snacks. They will be distributed in the TWELVE (!!!) staff workrooms and to our custodial staff and security staff.  We are coordinating the drive for Oct 5 - Oct 26 (but we never turn away a donation if it comes later!)

You can donate several ways:

1) there is an Amazon Wish list below and the items can be delivered to the Paredes House. Again, please make sure any donations are marked "PTSO".

Partners for Safe Teen Driving Sessions

The PSTD presentation dates for this school year are:

  • January 11, 2027
  • April 12, 2027

State Requirement Details: The State of Virginia requires all 10th-grade students and a parent/guardian to attend a 90-minute traffic safety program together as part of the classroom Driver Education curriculum. Completion of this program is required before a student can receive their Driver Education Certificate of Completion (DEC-1 card).

Students are strongly encouraged to fulfill this requirement during the quarter they are enrolled in classroom Driver Education. For the 2026–2027 school year, Driver Education will be offered during Quarters 1–3 for 10th-grade students.
