Good afternoon, Cedar Lane Community!
Believe it or not, the first quarter officially comes to a close in just two weeks on Friday, October 30th!
As we enter this final stretch, we want to partner with families to ensure every student finishes the quarter on a positive note. Here are a few quick steps you can take with your student this week:
-
Review SIS ParentVUE & StudentVUE: Take time together this weekend to look over current marks and identify any missing assignments or upcoming assessments.
-
Connect with Teachers Early: Encourage your student to reach out directly to their teachers or visit during office hours if they need extra support or clarification on coursework.
-
Focus on the Daily Routine: On-time daily attendance, staying organized, and keeping personal devices safely stored away during class time remain our top focus to maximize learning every single period.
Our teachers and staff are dedicated to supporting our students every step of the way as we bring the quarter to a close!
As always, if you have any questions regarding schedules, student support, or general information, please don't hesitate to contact our main office.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our school family. Have a wonderful, restful weekend!
Warm regards,
The Staff of Cedar Lane School

Share Your Thoughts on Schools and Buildings in the Renovation Queue Survey
The Office of the Chief of Facilities Services and Capital Programs is seeking input from community members, families, and employees about school facility needs and how FCPS prioritizes facility improvements.
Whether you work in an FCPS school, have a child enrolled, or live near an FCPS school, please share your perspective. The survey asks about building conditions, how facilities affect teaching and learning, renovation priorities, and what information would help you better understand this process.
Look for the survey in your email on Friday, October 16. The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary, and all responses will be kept confidential. The survey will remain open until Saturday, October 31.
Did You Know? Bond Referendums Fund Facility Renovations
FCPS does not pay for facility renovations out of its general operating budget. Instead, Fairfax County voters decide on how much money FCPS can spend on capital improvement projects through bond referendums. Bonds are issued by the county to the school division and allow FCPS to renovate buildings without increasing taxes.
Learn more about bond referendums and how they support our schools on the Bond Referendum webpage.
