Paw Prints: Updates from Dr. Grove
first place ribbon

Dear Wofltrap Families,

Did you know?  that on October 7th, the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) released the Fall 2026 School Performance and Support Framework (SPSF) results, providing school leaders, educators, families and caregivers, and policymakers with a snapshot of the performance and progress of the more than 1,800 elementary, middle, and high schools across the Commonwealth — and, importantly, to drive resources and support to the students who need them most??

Did you know? that Wolftrap’s performance category is “Distinguished” for this year?  This is the highest level of performance. Please be on the lookout for the official notice that will be delivered via enotify later today, Tuesday, October 13th.

WAY TO GO TO OUR WOLFIES!!! 🐺⭐⭐⭐

Warmly,

Dr. Maggie Grove, Principal

Ms. Megan Tipton, Assistant Principal

Information about Community Partners: Community Partner Spotlight & PAC Program Update: For those of you who are not aware, we have a preschool class on our campus.  Our Preschool Autism Class (PAC) provides individualized, specialized instruction and support in a structured preschool setting for students whose needs require this level of service. Meeting these students’ needs is the program’s priority. When appropriate and when space and staffing allow, preschool-aged community peers may join the class as peer models. Planned learning and play activities create opportunities for PAC students to practice communication, social interaction, and play alongside peers. Community peers also benefit by developing empathy, perspective, and interpersonal skills as they learn with classmates who have different strengths and ways of communicating. Community peer participation is a limited part of PAC programming, not a general preschool enrollment option. At this time, we have a full class, but we will review our enrollment this summer.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our early childhood programs and for helping us cultivate an inclusive, welcoming school community.

National Bullying Prevention Month: October is National Bullying Prevention Month. To help develop a common understanding of Bullying, below is the FCPS definition. Bullying in Students Rights and Responsibilities is defined as: “Any aggressive and unwanted behavior that is intended to harm, intimidate, or humiliate the victim; involves a real or perceived power imbalance between the aggressor or aggressors and victim; and is repeated over time or causes severe emotional trauma. “Bullying” includes cyberbullying. “Bullying” does not include ordinary teasing, horseplay, argument, or peer conflict.”

For more information on how FCPS handles a bullying situation please visit the FCPS Bullying Prevention and Intervention webpage. Our goal is to ensure all students feel safe and welcome at school. If you have questions and/or concerns about something that is going on at school, please contact the front office so that they can support you and most importantly your student.

Celebrating the Power of School Lunches: Multiple studies show that school lunches are important in supporting overall student health by improving students’ diets and combating food insecurity. Students who eat school lunches consume more fruit, vegetables, and fiber than their peers.

This National School Lunch Week, FCPS Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) reminds families that they are dedicated to providing delicious, healthy, sustainable, and student-focused meals. New menu items have been launched this year based on student feedback.  Want to know what’s for breakfast or lunch? View the Nutrition Services menus.
