ATTENDANCE

SCHS ATTENDANCE INFORMATION 2026-27

  • 2-Hour Advance Notice Required: All early dismissal requests must be submitted at least two hours in advance. We will no longer process last-minute phone calls or messages for immediate pickup. Please plan appointments accordingly, as requests failing to meet this lead time will not be honored.
  • Illness & Clinic Protocol: If a student feels ill, they MUST report to the School Clinic. Students will only be dismissed for medical reasons after being evaluated by the clinic staff and checked out from that location.
  • Official Office Check-Out: All students leaving early must physically check out through the Main Office. Any student who leaves campus without following this procedure will be marked with an unexcused absence.
  • Attendance Corrections: If a student is marked UNV for a specific period due to lateness or a clerical error, the student must speak with that teacher directly. The teacher will then update the attendance or notify the attendance team. The Attendance Offices will not alter period-specific attendance without teacher verification.

These procedures are in place to ensure student safety and a focused learning environment. We thank you for your cooperation and for helping us maintain an accurate and secure campus.

Message from Dr. Khoshaba

Greetings, SoCo family,

This was Homecoming week, and I’ve enjoyed all the school spirit, memorable moments, and fun that come with it! From Pep Rallis and celebrations to the many other great things happening across our school, there was plenty to look forward to this week, and as I write this Friday afternoon, there’s still so much more to come! I hope you’ll join me in making this a wonderful week for our Stallion community!

Sense of Belonging

Core Values, Stallion Strong

This week, we’re proud to recognize Mr. Cullen, one of our exceptional math teachers, and Mrs. Lewis, our Technology Specialist, as our Core Values award winners. They exemplify Integrity, Community, and Resilience through the care and commitment they show toward our students and staff. Please join me in congratulating them and thanking them for the difference they make in our school community.

Core Value

SoCo Cheer Brings the Spirit and the Skills!

Congratulations to our JV Cheer team on an outstanding performance at Woodbridge High School’s “Battle at the Bridge” competition on October 5. After months of practice, the team earned second place and was named Fan Favorite. We’re proud of their hard work and grateful for the way they represented South County!

Cheer team

Stallions Stampede to a 48–14 Victory!

Congratulations to our football team on a phenomenal win over Robinson last week! The Stallions delivered a dominant, electrifying performance, scoring 48 points and holding Robinson to 14. We’re incredibly proud of our athletes for their outstanding effort, teamwork, and determination!

STEM Solutions: Giving Innovation a Hand!

Dan Velazquez’s STEM students are designing creative projects to improve services throughout our school. Their work ranges from robotic arms to new carts designed around the needs of our athletic trainers. These talented students are giving innovation a hand, sometimes literally!

Student Leaders, Stronger Support

Our Principal Feedback Forum (PFF) is taking on a range of important topics this year, with one of its top priority being how to connect students with academic help. We reviewed four resources: Stallion Time, after-school help with a teacher once a week, intervention for students with math or literacy deficits, and Wednesday after-school support. The students took the idea further by proposing MESH (help in Math, English, Science, and History), which would connect students in need of support with student leaders from the Honor Societies in each of those subject areas. This is a great example of thoughtful, timely tutoring shaped by student leadership. Way to go, PFF!

A Pep Rally to Remember

Our Homecoming pep rally brought the Stallion community together to celebrate school spirit and the excitement of the week. Students and staff filled the gym with cheers, smiles, and plenty of pride. And for the first time in my five years as Principal, I didn’t see one cell phone out! That’s right; the students were THAT engaged! Thanks to everyone who helped make it a spirited celebration!

SoCo’s Stage Was Set for Star Power!

Congratulations to everyone who participated in our Third Annual Talent Show! Every performance was a gold-star act, and we’re proud of all the students who shared their talent with our school community. Here are this year’s official place winners:

Best Overall

  • 1st: Rayden Chandee and Sloane Greenstein
  • 2nd: Raashi Thakrar
  • 3rd: Inayah Baig

Stage Presence

  • 1st: Vioncy Britton Brooks
  • 2nd: Ora Johnson
  • 3rd: Kyra, Brieene, and Caeli Ellwood

Talent Show

A Day of Choice, A Chance to Connect

Advisory Choice Day was a fantastic opportunity for students to enjoy arts and crafts, play card games, and cheer on classmates who performed in the Talent Show. The activities brought energy and enthusiasm to our advisory spaces. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a fun and memorable day!

Every Stallion Counts

So far, a record number of 1,350 students have completed the Trusted Adult Survey, and we’ll continue collecting responses this Tuesday. Our goal is for all 1,950 students to participate so we can better understand who has the support they need and where additional support may be needed. If your student hasn’t completed the survey yet, please encourage them to do so this Tuesday.

Coach’s Corner

As students work through learning objectives in their classes this quarter, one of the best ways to support their growth is by encouraging them to explain their thinking out loud. Whenever your student is working through a challenge or preparing for a test, we can ask them, "How would you explain this concept to someone who has never seen it before?" Teaching a topic to others is one of the most effective ways to deepen understanding and spot learning gaps before big assessments.

That’s it for this week! I look forward to sharing pictures from the Homecoming football game and dance with you next week.
