📚 ReadaFun Reading Fundraiser: October 5 to November 13
The SEES PTA's ReadaFun Reading Fundraiser is underway! Please check your child’s backpack for a yellow or white flyer with your child’s name on it. The flyer has instructions for parents and your child’s unique login information.
The flyer shows how to:

set up your child’s online fundraising page in minutes. Just scan the QR code with your phone camera; no app is needed.
-
help your child log in at readafun.com to track reading minutes and earn coins for the Owl Shop.

invite family and friends to cheer on your reader and support our school.
🏆 Prizes for every level of reader:

Individual Prize: Any student who logs in and records minutes by Oct 16 will receive 5 raffle tickets for Bingo Night!

Class Prize: The class that reads the most minutes wins a cookie party, and their teacher gets a $100 classroom mini grant.

SOAR Prize: Any grade level with 10 students signed up in each class by Monday, Oct 12 earns a dance party.

Whole School Prize: If the school raises $2,500 together, everyone gets a PJ & stuffy day. At $3,500, it’s an ice cream party for everyone at lunch!

Oct 20: AAP Screening Process Information Session.There will be a parent meeting on Tuesday, October 20 at 5:00 p.m. in the SEES library for those interested in Understanding the Full-time AAP Screening Process. If you are considering having your child screened for Full-time AAP services, plan to join us on the 20 to learn about the process and everything that goes into a referral. Full-time referrals are accepted August 24-December 15. Please contact Allison Donnelly, the Advanced Academic Resource Teacher, at 703-921-2383 or via email at aldonnelly@fcps.edu, if you have any questions.

Oct. 21: Early Release Wednesday 3-hour Release - 1:05 p.m. Students will be dismissed at 1:05 p.m. unless we receive notification from their families that they should stay until 4:05 p.m.

Oct 22: PTA Meeting and Workshop. Workshop starts at 5:30 p.m., followed by a PTA meeting at 6:00 p.m. (Note: Bingo has been moved to November 12.)
- Oct 23: SCA Spirt Day: Pumpkin Day

Oct 29: Fall Photo Retakes. This will be for students who were not here on our first picture day or who have been recently enrolled. It is also an option for families who were not satisfied with their child's original photo (if a package was purchased, please send the photo package back with your student on picture day).

Oct. 30: End of First Quarter 2-hour Early Release - 2:05 p.m.

Oct. 30: SCA Spirit Day: Book Character Day. Dress up as your favorite book character and celebrate a love of reading. Costumes should be school-appropriate and comfortable. No masks or weapons are allowed. As always, there is no obligation to participate and, of course, school colors (blue and gold) are a great option on any spirit day!
