🎉 New PTA Academic Enrichment Clubs!

The GBW PTA is excited to announce two new academic enrichment clubs designed to challenge students, build problem-solving skills, and make learning fun!
💻 ACSL – American Computer Science League (Grades 3–6)
Does your child enjoy logic puzzles, secret codes, and solving challenging problems? ACSL introduces students to how computers “think” through fun, collaborative challenges—no prior coding experience required! Across four contests, students will explore computer science concepts such as binary systems, logic, and graph theory while strengthening analytical and problem-solving skills.
ACSL (American Computer Science League) consists of four contest sessions throughout the school year. Each contest involves a 30-minute timed online test hosted on the HackerRank platform, containing 6 short-answer computer science and logic problems designed to build computational thinking and analytical skills.

➗ MOEMS – Math Olympiads for Elementary & Middle Schools (Grades 4–6)
For students who enjoy a good math challenge, MOEMS goes beyond memorization and encourages creative thinking, logic, and problem-solving. Through practice sessions and monthly contests, students tackle interesting, non-routine math problems while learning different strategies for approaching difficult questions. The goal is to build mathematical confidence, flexibility, and perseverance while making challenging math fun! MOEMS consists of five monthly contest sessions, each involving a 30-minute timed test containing 5 non-routine mathematical problem-solving questions designed to foster analytical thinking.

🚲 Get Ready to GO BIG! 🤩 Get ready for an unforgettable, action-packed BMX Air Show featuring professional BMX athletes performing incredible high-flying stunts! But it’s more than just an amazing show—these athletes use the excitement of BMX to share positive, inspiring messages that motivate students to dream big, work hard, and believe in themselves. With big air, incredible tricks, and nonstop excitement, this is one assembly our students won’t want to miss! 🚲💥
🚒 Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire & Rescue Open House! 🚑
Celebrate Fire Prevention Week with the Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department at their annual Open House on Saturday, October 10!
Bring the whole family for a fun and educational day at the fire station. Get an up-close look at fire and rescue apparatus, peek inside the station, tour an ambulance, and learn important fire and safety tips—including battery and safe-charging safety. Families can also enjoy safety programs and demonstrations, kids’ activities, raffles, and learn more about volunteer opportunities with the department. OH2026-Open House Flyer 2026

GBW PTA Adopt-A-Highway Fall Clean-up
The Greenbriar West PTA adopted Stringfellow Road between Poplar Tree Rd and Point Pleasant Dr. Please join us for our Fall Clean-up on Wednesday, October 21st (early release day). We will meet at the GBW Front Door at 2:30pm. The cleanup will last an hour or less.

🌧️🎬 Rain couldn’t stop GBW Family Night! 💚🐼
Our first GBW Family Night was definitely one to remember!
We started the evening outdoors with games, food, and plenty of fun—but when the rain arrived, our GBW community didn’t hesitate. Families jumped in to help move games, concessions, supplies, and everything else indoors, getting soaked along the way! That’s what makes GBW so special. Everyone pitched in, kept smiling, and within minutes, the fun continued with the movie playing in the gym.
Thank you to every family, volunteer, and staff member who helped make our first Family Night such a memorable one.
🍭 Special thanks to the Casterline Family for keeping the fresh cotton candy coming all night, and to our 6th grade parents for keeping the games and concessions going strong!
A rainy night turned into a pretty great reminder of what community looks like. 💚
