Message from the President
Hello FHS Community!!
Congratulations to our two Basket Raffle winners! Cathy Pollack won the Fall for Fairfax Gift Basket which was donated by Susan Skare Real Estate. Lacey O’Donnell won the Italian Gift Basket. Enjoy ladies and thank you for your support to the PTSA!!
Join Now! If you have joined and would like to support us further, you can also donate to our No Fuss Fundraiser.
The PTSA is organizing two Fall Fundraisers: 1) an After School FHS Fundraiser on Thursday 10/15/2026 and 2) an Election Day Fundraiser on Tuesday 11/3/2026 at Daniel’s Run Elementary (see below for more info). These Fall Fundraisers will help support our 26-27 programs including teacher/staff and student club support, college/career activities plus teacher/staff appreciation events.
After-School Fundraiser @ FHS
Cookie Dippers!! - and More! fundraiser on Thursday, October 15th, 3:30-4:30pm in the FHS Lobby.
A sweet sale is happening! Bring your friends, enjoy a tasty snack, and support the PTSA. We will be selling Cookie Dippers, Stuffed Smores Cookies as well as cotton candy. Cash or Card is accepted.
Election Day Fundraiser
Election Day Fundraiser is next on the agenda on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 from 6:30-2pm at Daniel’s Run Elementary. We will be selling grab n’go breakfast, lunch and snacks including bake sale items, coffee, hot cocoa and more. If you don’t vote at this location, spread the word to all your family and friends that vote at Daniel’s Run Elementary!
Peer Mentoring Program - Please also consider donating to our Peer Mentoring program. The FHS peer mentoring program where 100 juniors and seniors serve as peer mentors to the incoming 9th grade class during Lion Time! Ms. Sharyn Hunt, peer mentoring program sponsor, has requested candy donations for their program. A special shout-out to Ms. Hunt!

All Night Grad (ANG)
We have had some parents sign up for some of the slots for All Night Grad. We still need a couple more volunteers to help plan the City of Fairfax Craft Fair Concession stand. Please consider helping out! ANG Committee and Craft Fair SUG
We will be having another meeting soon to decide where we will hold the event. More info to come! PSAT/SAT Day, Wednesday, Oct. 7
FCPS high schools are administering the PSAT/NMSQT and SAT School Day on October 7, 2026. On this day school staff will be supporting the administration of these tests.
There is a 2HR Early Dismissal for the students in school on October 7.
Freshmen (9th grade) do not attend school!
Please plan for the following:
- Students receiving low incidence special education services receive a normal instructional program if not participating in the PSAT/NMSQT or SAT School Day with a two-hour early release.
- Grade 9 students do not attend school on this day
- Grade 10-11 students take the PSAT/NMSQT, with limited exceptions
- Grade 12 students were encouraged to participate in the SAT and were asked to sign up; those choosing not to take the SAT do not attend school on this day.
If your student will be picked up after the exam or driving themselves home, please fill out this FORM by October 6, 2026, at NOON. Parents and guardians will NOT be allowed to enter the building or check out their students until after 11:30am on test day. Please keep in mind if your student has College Board accommodations, their end time may be affected.
Principal's Coffee, Oct. 9, 7:30am, Career Center
Dr. Aye hosts a "Principal's Coffee" that gives parents and guardians a chance to stop by and say hello and hear updates about the school in a relaxed setting. It's a casual get-together and a nice way to share ideas and insights about all things Fairfax.
Please join us for the first Principal's Coffee of the school year, Friday, October 9th, 7:30-8:30am, in the Career Center, room L106. All visitors must sign in at the kiosk in the main office.
