Volunteers Needed for Weyanoke Field Day
Each year, the students and teachers take part in a fun filled day called Field Day. On Field Day each class goes from station to station, around the school and grass field, participating in different games and events. This year, Weyanoke’s Field Day will take place on Friday, October 2. We need parent volunteers to help work at the event stations.
The volunteer sign-up form went home this week. Times are 8:50 - 11:10 a.m. for grades Kindergarten through 2nd Grade and 12:40 - 3:00 p.m. for older grades.

Families can learn more about 2e learners, how to support them, and how to partner with schools on the 2e webpage, which also includes a link to the Special Education Handbook. New information — including printable flyers — has been added under the heading Supporting 2e Learners in FCPS.
For more information, please contact Josie Mani, AART (jtmani@fcps.edu) or Lesley Bates, Special Education Department Chair (labates@fcps.edu).

Digital Literacy Resources for Families
As part of FCPS’ continued support for digital literacy, families can access lesson materials that introduce the concepts students will explore throughout the school year. These resources include student lessons and supporting materials organized by grade level. Resources will be shared on a quarterly basis through Schoology.
The All Parent/Guardian Course is available in Schoology through a parent or guardian account. Schoology and ParentVUE use the same login credentials. Families who need assistance can review How Do I Log in to and Access Schoology? or watch the brief walkthrough on the Schoology Snippets page.
Families can also learn more about FCPS guidance and practices on the Educational Technology in FCPS webpage.
📞 Family Information Phone Lines
FCPS phone lines are available in nine different languages. An FCPS employee will respond to your call in your preferred language within 24 hours, Monday through Friday.
Call the phone line with any question about your child’s education or FCPS and someone will help connect you to resources or arrange for you to speak to the appropriate school employee. Learn more about family information phone lines and phone numbers.
