Dear Academy Community,
We hope this letter finds you well as we move through an exciting and productive autumn season. We would like to share several outstanding achievements from our students, preview upcoming opportunities on the horizon, and communicate important logistical reminders.
We are thrilled to highlight our student leaders who participated in the Academy Ambassador Leadership Day. Bringing together student representatives across all six Academies, this interactive day offered our Ambassadors a fantastic platform to collaborate, refine their leadership skills, and amplify student voice across our programs.
The MTAS Pre-Professional Seniors had an incredible evening with their showcase last month. Their dedication and talent were on full display, delivering a wonderful performance to our community. Bravo!
We will have our first county-wide early release day on October 30. Only AM (2nd period) Academy shuttles will run that day. All feeder school students should remain at their base school for MD (6th period) and PM (8th period) classes and follow their base school schedule. Fairfax HS students will follow the modified FHS schedule. If you have any questions about that day, please contact the Academy office.
Safety and transportation remain top priorities. One more reminder that all students—including bus riders and student drivers—must wear their Academy lanyards displaying their student ID and bus pass at all times while on campus and boarding shuttle buses. Wearing IDs prominently ensures quick shuttle boarding and maintains a secure campus environment. If students have lost their lanyard, a new one can be purchased in the Academy office for $5. Base schools will be able to print a new bus ID.
One of the most exciting parts of the Academy is the real-world learning experiences and we have a very robust line up planned for our students! Our Electrical and MTAS students kicked off the year with a trip to the State Fair and Signature Theatre, respectively. We are preparing for additional student field trips and visits from industry guest speakers and artists. These opportunities give our students direct insight into professional pathways, connecting classroom concepts with creative and technical field experience. Stay tuned for additional details!
Thank you for our ongoing partnership in fostering an inspiring environment for our students.
Warm Regards,
Mrs. Cook
