ℹ️Tuesday, 9/29: AAP Info Night

Families are invited to attend an Advanced Academic Program (AAP) Information Meeting, led by Linda Biberaj, our Advanced Academic Resource Teacher (AART):

AAP Information Meeting: Tuesday, September 29, 7- 8 pm, in the Sangster Cafeteria. The session will cover the following information:

    • AAP Continuum of Services: Families will learn about the continuum of advanced academic services available to FCPS students.
    • Full-Time AAP Identification: Families will learn about the referral and identification processes for Full-Time AAP services.

The 1st Early Release Wednesday (dismissal at 12:55 pm) will be Wednesday, September 30.

Dismissal will be at 12:55 pm for all students, unless you have indicated you want your child/children to remain in school until 3:55 pm.

Swing by Tous les Jours in Burke on Friday, Oct. 2, 10-11 am, for a casual morning, a delicious French pastry, and a chance to connect with other military families and spouses.

In order to volunteer in the school or to be selected to chaperone a field trip, you must first go through the FCPS volunteer screening process beginning here.

Complete this form if you are interested in volunteering in the cafeteria at your student's lunch time. Volunteers will receive an email confirmation. All volunteers must be registered through FCPS. 

Required FCPS Steps

To volunteer in school or to chaperone a field trip, all volunteers must complete the official FCPS volunteer screening process.

Register as soon as possible through the FCPS Volunteer Portal.

Immunization Events for FCPS Students

FCPS, in partnership with Inspire Health Alliance, is providing school-required immunizations and optional flu shots for all FCPS students, ages 18 and under, with no out-of-pocket costs. Parents or guardians may view upcoming events and schedule an appointment for their student. Participation is voluntary. Additional immunization resources are also available.

Annual Special Education Family Conference

The annual Special Education Family Conference: Connected Communities, Thriving Students, is on Saturday, November 14, at Hayfield Secondary School. 

Families, educators, and community members are invited to this no-cost, in-person event to connect, learn, and explore available special education services, supports, and resources. Lunch will be provided for all participants.

Report absences online through ParentVue or by email or by calling 703-644-8282. Visit our attendance page for more information!

⏰School Hours, Late Arrival Policy, Early Pick Up

  • School hours are 9:10 a.m. to 3:55 p.m.
  • Students who arrive after 9:10 a.m. must be walked into the main office and signed in by an adult.
  • If you need to pick your student up early, come to the office with your ID, and we will call your student down.
  • Early pick up cut-off time is 3:30 pm. 
  • Whenever possible, keep your child’s transportation method the same each day.
