• November 18, 2026
• January 13, 2027
• April 7, 2027

Please review the FCPS Early Release Wednesday Child Care Options (https://tinyurl.com/Wednesdays-Child-Care-Options) and complete your child’s childcare and dismissal plan so Clearview can plan appropriate supervision.

Lexia Core5 Literacy and

PowerUp Reading

We are excited to use Lexia Core5 Literacy and PowerUp Reading in Grades 1–6! As part of FCPS’s structured literacy instruction, Lexia provides personalized learning tailored to your child's needs. Students are assigned specific weekly targets, which they will complete entirely during school time within our daily language arts block. Keeping Lexia at school ensures our teachers can actively monitor real-time data and give your child immediate, hands-on support.

Since students finish their usage at school, they do not need to log in at home.

However, you can visit the Lexia Family Information website to learn more about the program and find fun, literacy-building activities to try together at home!

After School Clubs

Please check Talking Points for after-school club updates beginning next week. Over 175 students indicated interest in participating in after-school clubs. Students who did not get selected via lottery for their first choice will have the opportunity to select another club that is not to capacity.

All after school club communication will be delivered via the Talking Points app. If you have not downloaded the app, please do so today and enable push notifications to ensure you don’t miss any time-sensitive messages:

  • Open your phone's Settings menu.
  • Find and select TalkingPoints for Families.
  • Tap Notifications and turn on Allow Notifications.

Please use Talking Points to contact Rachel Charlton, Assistant Principal, with any club related questions.

A message from the Health Room

Please consider donating gently used clothing to our school health room! We are looking for shirts and pants in size appropriate from preschool age through sixth grade. These items are always greatly appreciated and help us keep extra clothing on hand for students who may need to change clothes during the school day. Thank you so much for your generosity and support of our students!

Blue Star Week Military Family Breakfast

Clearview Elementary School invites all our military families to a special appreciation breakfast on Friday, October 2, from 8:45 to 9:30 AM. Join us to connect with fellow military families and enjoy breakfast as we honor your strength, dedication, and service to our community. We hope to see you and your child there!

If you did not receive an invitation via Talking Points or phone call, please let us know so we can update our system.

Superintendent Community Conversations

Join us for a series of Community Conversations that will be held across the school division. Share your thoughts with Dr. Reid and ask her questions. Click on the link below to register for the event:

Advanced Academic Programs

We invite you to review the AAP Fall Newsletter to stay informed about Advanced Academic Services, screening procedures, and important deadlines for this school year. Access the newsletter here.

For more information, please contact Holly Hill, Advanced Academic Resource Teacher, via Talking Points or visit the FCPS Advanced Academic site. We’re excited to share information about Twice-Exceptional (2e) Programming available throughout our school system. Twice-exceptional students demonstrate advanced abilities while also experiencing learning, attention, or other challenges that may require additional support.

The Superintendent’s Advisory Committee for 2e Programming developed a one-pager sharing ways in which we are Supporting 2e Learners in FCPS. This information is included on the 2e webpage. Families can also learn more about 2e learners, ways to support them, and how to partner with schools.  The webpage also includes a link to the Special Education Handbook.

If you have any questions or would like additional information, please contact Holly Hill via Talking Points.

Not Feeling Well?

When Your Child Can Come to School

School is better when your child is here! But we do understand that some days, they may feel unwell. Learn more about which symptoms are ok at school (like sneezing or sniffles), and when your child should stay home (if they have a fever, diarrhea, or vomiting, for example).

If your child has a chronic illness, make sure to notify our school so that assistance can be provided if needed. Keep an open line of communication with our public health nurse. Call us as soon as you know your child will be absent and, if possible, let us know how long you think they will be out.

If you or your family need any kind of support, please reach out to our front office. We are here for you! Visit FCPS’ Attendance webpage for tips and strategies.
